Graduation Cake in 30 minutes

No, I actually didn't measure ingredients, bake the cake and made the buttercream in 30 minutes, but I did frosted and decorated the cake in 30 minutes.
With graduations still going I though you might wanted to get a quick idea for a last minute cake for a friend or family member.

I needed this cake on Friday morning so I baked the Red Velvet cake on  Wednesday night , I also made the buttercream and put cake and buttercream in the refrigerator. Thursday night,I whipped the buttercream, I assembled the cake ( my normal 3 layers of cake and 2 layers of buttercream) I crumb coated the cake, let it chill in the refrigerator for a few minutes, took it out and frosted it.

I am not really good with buttercream cakes, but my talented blog friend Jennifer, from Cup a Dee Cakes has a wonderful buttercream video tutorial . I am sure you will find it very useful.

I got my cookie cutters out, some black and white fondant and made the diploma and the girl silhouette

I used big tips to add a little detail on the cake and the borders, and that's it, cake was done!!

I hope you all have a great holiday weekend !

Yellow with Silver Details Bridal Shower Dress Cookies

Happy Monday dear blog friends!! I hope you had a wonderful weekend.
Around here the sun is still hiding from us and rain is upon us, but is ok. I have been feeling like my old me, just pregnant! but very happy because the final results telling us that we are having a healthy little girl are in and that is all I need it to feel better and get out of my depressed mood.
I had a wonderful weekend , I was off on Friday and I decided to take some time for myself  and went shopping for my baby, I didn't go crazy like I did for Cami; but I certainly got some cute little outfits.
Saturday I was able to spend half of the morning at the park with Cami while daddy was cleaning the rug at our apartment and then I went home to start working in some cake toppers for some orders that I have for the next couple of weeks.

I am so excited for this weekend coming up, a dear friend is coming from Costa Rica to visit us, I haven't seeing her in 4 years and we are so looking forward to get together and have a long girl talk. I love when my friends come to visit, I specially love all the goodies they bring me from back home.

I made this really cute elegant cookie dresses  for a Bridal Shower in MA. I loved  how the silver detail shine on the yellow dress. I am assuming that's the color scheme the bride is using for her bridesmaid's dresses, perfect for a summer wedding!

This dresses I only made them for fun, I think they turned out cute.

I also made this mini purse cookie for the future bride to be.
Have a great weekend and thank you for stopping by.

Small First Communion Cake

As you will see, my cake orders are staring to decrease, rolling fondant these days is kind of hard . Even if I am not that far along I just feel "funny unconfortable" rolling fondant, therefore I am choosing only smaller projects.

I made this cake for a First Communion celebration along with some cross cookie favors. The cake was a white cake with vanilla pudding filling and covered with white fondant . For the girl's name I used my Cri Cut machine, but I have to be honest, I didn't folled the fondant too thin and at the end it did affect the look of the letters.

The piping was done with a Tip #3 using black royal icing.

Little House Cake

This is a short post, this week has been one of the toughest in my life for the past few years and I am just trying to keeping myself with faith and a  positive attitude to the possible more bad news that are coming my way.

I just wanted to share this cake I made last week and I also couldn't pass the fact that Sunday is Mother's Day and I want to which you all the best!

First Communion Cake

My cousin's son  celebrated his First Communion last Sunday and she wanted me to make him a cake to celebrate. This was a small cake, vanilla buttermilk with cookies and cream filling. All the details were made with gumpaste and I hand painted the letters and hearts with gold luster dust.

In another note, totally not related to cake I wanted to show you how beautiful my little one is in these pictures.  I took them on Easter Day, in this picture below I was asking her to smile for the picture and she didn't want to, so I end up taking the picture anyway.
